INFACON XVI goes virtual

Considering the travel restrictions, especially for participants from outside Europe, we have, with a heavy heart, decided to change the format of INFACON XVI to a fully digital conference.

All participants and sponsors will be together in the same virtual portal called OnAIR. All sessions will be live sessions where you can interact with speakers, sponsors can have meetings with attendees during or after the conference and in the meeting hub you can meet other attendees.

The conference kicks off with the following keynote lectures:

  • Alexandra Beck Gjørv, SINTEF and Anne Borg, NTNU: Welcome and opening
  • Henrik Gade, Norwegian Environment Agency: CO2 emissions and climate
  • Håvard Moe, Elkem ASA: Means to reduce CO2 emission in industry
  • Dr Nic A. Barcza: Metallurgical research contributions to development
  • Nina Dahl, SINTEF and Gabriella Tranell, NTNU: Metallurgical research in Norway
The next three days will have a wide-ranging program, covering the whole value chain from raw materials to new product and circularity. The speakers come from industry and academia in 18 countries and 5 continents. The market section concludes the conference with these 4 lectures:
  • Aloys d'Harambure, IMnI: Market for Manganese Alloys
  • Jørn de Linde, CRU: Ferroalloys in the 2020s – using Silicon as a guide
  • Nils Backeberg, Roskill: Bulk and noble ferroalloys markets:
    Fundamentals, trends and forecasts
  • Yizhuan Yan, Inner Mongolia Erdos Electric Power&metallurgy Co.,ltd.: Status and Characteristics of Ferrosilicon Industry in China
