Offshore wind has the potential to deliver 18 times the global electricity demand. According to IEA, it is set to be a $1 trillion industry over the next two decades. Offshore wind will be an important part of the future energy system with reduced emissions to reach the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Climate Agreement.
|
EERA DeepWind aim to present the best on-going research and innovation on offshore wind energy development. The programme includes a mix of plenary presentations with broad appeal and presentations in parallel sessions or by posters on specific science and technology themes.
|
Topics presented:
- New turbine and generator technology
- Grid connection and system integration
- Met-ocean conditions
- Operation and maintenance
- Installation and sub-structures
- Wind farm optimization and control
- Experimental testing and validation
- Energy transition perspectives
Speakers include:
- Tina Bru, Minister of Petroleum and Energy, Norway
- Nils Røkke, Executive Vice President Sustainability, SINTEF
- Carlos Eduardo Lima da Cunha, Policy Officer, European Commission
- John Olav Tande, Chief Scientist, SINTEF Energy Research
- Peter Eecen, Coordinator EERA JP Wind
- Trond Kvamsdal, Professor, NTNU
- Amy Robertson, Principal Engineer, The National Renewable Energy Laboratory
- Lena Kitzing, Head of Section Society, Markets & Policy, DTU
- Katherine Dykes, Head of Section, Systems Engineering & Optimization, DTU
The full programme include a total of more than 100 presentations and posters.
